23-10-2023 GMDSS issued in a country other than the national CoC

It is increasingly common for foreign seafarers to hold, in addition to their national CoC, a GMDSS issued by a country other than where the national CoC was issued. If this is the case, recognition must be requested for both documents.

This also applies to seafarers with a Dutch certificate and a GMDSS issued by a country other than the Netherlands. Recognition will have to be applied separately for the GMDSS.
